Plywall® engineered wood noise barrier
Established in 1981, PLYWALL® is the largest treated wood soundwall in the world — a warm, fence-like barrier with noise reduction comparable to heavier, more expensive concrete and masonry.
About Plywall®
Stronger, lighter, dimensionally stable
PLYWALL® is built with Kiln Drying After Treatment (KDAT), producing a soundwall that is stronger, lighter and dimensionally stable. CCA and MCA preservatives with UV resistance give decades of protection against decay and termites.
It adapts to any height, soil, climate and terrain. Because of its natural wood, fence-like look, PLYWALL® is less imposing to communities and neighborhoods — and unlike concrete and steel, it saves on material, installation and repair costs.
Modifications for odd span widths and terrain contours are easily made in the field. Our customers get a complete turn-key solution: engineering, fabrication and a comprehensive material package, all installed by our own highly trained employees.
Design detail
A proven post-and-panel system
PLYWALL® panels are prefabricated pressure-treated wood panels. Panel caps are standard on every panel.
- Panels in 8, 12 and 16 ft widths with unlimited heights; specialty widths and heights available
- Posts embedded in the ground, backfilled with gravel or concrete — or steel beams in lieu of treated posts
- Engineered to your specified wind loading (IBC)
- Tested per ASTM E-90; performance comparable to concrete and masonry
- Reflective barrier performance
- Factory-applied clear sealant or solid color stain; textured face improves adhesion for special finishes

PLYWALL® comes standard with a factory-applied clear sealant or your choice of solid-color stain.
On-screen colors are approximate. Ask for a physical sample before the finish goes on the drawings.
Warranty
15–30 year limited warranty
PLYWALL® carries a 15 to 30 year limited warranty against fungal decay and termite damage, depending on the options selected. A maintenance package extends your warranty.
Expected service life: 25+ years.
No maintenance package? You still get a 15-year limited warranty with no maintenance requirement.
